Hi
It always happens all together, or when the busiest. The computer with which I do all my drawings and cam work started giving up the ghost. It was a bit long in the tooth (Dell Latitude 640).
The desktop running my machine has also decided to call it a day and requires replacement.
I need replacement download of Mach 3 to enable me to get up and running once again. I still have my .dat license file on hand.
Can one run Mach 3 on new laptop running windows 10. I use Mach on the laptop to verify my work before transfering to the machines computer running XP as usual.
Regards

Hi,
Can one run Mach 3 on new laptop running windows 10
You can, but ONLY if you use an external motion controller like a SmoothStepper or a UC100.
If you want to carry on using a parallel port then you are restricted to desktop machines running 32 bit Windows7 or earlier. If you are going to run your machine with a parallel port then
you would be advised NOT to install any other software on that PC. Competeing software can and will cause the parallel port to hesitate and stutter with disastrous consequences for your
CNC job.

I changed over to a UC100 and a windows 10 laptop on my router, MUCH better than PP and very easy to setup from a running system.

Hi,
if you are keen on a UC100 beware there are a lot of Chinese counterfeits out there, Amazon , Ebay etc.
Buy direct from CNCDrive or their nominated distributor.

I think what the OP is asking is, can Mach3 be put on a Win10 computer to verify work, not to control motion. If this is the answer, then yes, I do it all the time.

And if you need a computer with Win7 32 bit, you can get refurbs on Amazon.

You hit the nail on the head.
My machine pc runs mach3 with XP on it and thats it.
I need a new download for the new win10 laptop as well as for a new machine pc.

Hi,
sounds like Windows10 (64 bit) and Mach3 may have had a parting of the ways.

I bought a dual core ex point of service machine with 4 gig RAM and Win 7 off craigslist for $60CAD, has been running my CNC with mach 3 for almost a year now quite nicely.
