General Mach Discussion / Re: OK that does it!

Hi:

Id put it in the C:\mach3 folder. As I recall, thats a special macro which is the same for all profiles,
and resides in the Mach3 folder, not the macros folder..

RC:

No, that part sounds normal. The move is a syncronised move at requested feedrate, so as it pulls out, the X ratio is higher so the Z slows down. I dont think anything can be done about that one..

Hi Graham:

The G76 is actually a macro M1076.m1s located in the Mach3 folder. Ill ask Brian to add
that to his list, I suspect the math falls apart at 90 degrees . I suspect the math is falling apart over 89..

Benny:

All the best to you as well, after all, you started this informal (infernal) little group, so its really due to your efforts and diligence
that there is such a place.. :)

General Mach Discussion / Re: Need a little spindle encoder timing help
« on: December 19, 2007, 09:26:39 AM »
In your case, Id call an S100000 as previously posted, then measure the result. Lets say you get a real rpm of 3000 , so then select configure pulleys, and set the pulley max to 3000.
Now select S3000M3, and the spindle will then do 3000RPM, then select S1500 , what RPM do you get? Should be close to 1500 if your vfd is linear. Slowly decrease will the voltage is too low to run it, then set that S speed as the pulley minimum, then check linearity and see what happens.. Is it better?

Hi Guys:

I havent followed this thread fully, (Im having a very busy day here..) but Brett was kind enough to steer me here.

The PID loop in Spindle isnt a good thing to use if it shows creeping, its very hard to tune on some systems, so its a cse of it works, or doesnt usually. In normal system,s, you simply command a S100000 and see what you get, then set the pulley max for that pulley to what you actually get. In most systems, your spindle will be accurate pretty much across the board..

Hi Don:

Industry standard is just to have a space, MachCloud will read either one, th enext plugin will give a choice,
but mine only puts out spaces right now, yours puts out commas..

Hi:

Yes, and I may add that capability soon, but I wanted to make an stl file creation program first, the points seemed
useless till we had something that woudl create a model..

Hi:
No, the scanner is a plugin, MachCloud will be a free utility to process point clouds to stl files so you can run them in VCarve or Meshcam to generate toolpaths from scanned points. The point scanner plugin is out already, but my next job is to celan that up some..
