One tip Shawn,
   Be sure to check your metering valves. I'm new to Mach but not machines. It is always a good idea to make sure your getting oil where you want it, not just leaving the pump. All of ours are as you say, on a timer. I wish I knew how to help you set that up. Your idea is much better.

Modbus / Mod I/o Question

I was wondering about a mod I/O.
1. Can I simply hook a mod I/O straight to a printer port?
2. With a mod I/O do you have to have a rack and, or a power supply like a PLC.
3. Do you use software to config. a mod I/O or can this be done in Mach like a breakout board?

Auto sketch will save as dxf or dwg. It is a nice program too. If I'm making dimensional drawings, I use this, save as dxf and import in CAM program. It is easy to learn also. Same people that write Autocad. I think it cost like $160.00.

Yes, I have a charge pump, I think it is flaky though. I got a new seprate pump thursday. I will try that today. It's not real bad, once I open Mach and hit reset, it quits. I will let you know how it does.

What is the dif. between index debounce, and debounce?

I have only used one prorgram, it is artcam. Check them out, I think they have cheaper versions. It is real good for graphics.

     Do you think this may be where that tick of the axis is coming from on my axis when I fire up my machine?  My debounce and index debounce were set at 0. What is the index debounce?

I have a little more info. The right joystick, left to right is the one we use for axis gain and other things. 1st, In screen design, set your Jog mode button to Hot key Ctrl J.
 
1. In neutral = 1st axis rapids, second and third moves at slow jog rate. Pull up this page by hitting tab key in Mach. Double click this number and change to 1.0 % and hit enter or, raise and lower by the [ and ] keys.
2. Hold to right = All 3 axis in rapid
3. Hold button 6 ( interlock ) and hold right (in that order) = Step mode
4. Hold button 6 ( interlock ) and bump left (in that order) = Changes cycle jog step from 1.0000 - 0.0001 by one decimal place per bump.

Here is a copy of my grabber file and my screen set. I changed some of my hotkeys. I will be posting in more detail later. If you can't find your way around screen designer, please wait until I get everything posted.
I also changed the way I was using the last axis. I know this is confusing but I will clear it up in detail later.




        I find the keygrabber to be really nice and easy to set up. It's killer. I can do the following from a $16.00 gamepad I bought at Walmart.
1,2,3. Jog my X,Y,&Z in analog. Slow to fast.All three at the same time.
4,5,6. Zero my X,Y,&Z axis DROS with an interlock.
7,8,9. Feed rate +,-,& instant return to 100%
10. Step mode. This works good.
11. Go to Zero with an interlock. Sends all three axis home.
12. Program rewind.
13. Cycle start.
14. Feed hold.
15. Cycle stop.
16. Flood coolant toggle. On,off.
17. Single block.
18. Block delete.
19. Optional stop.
20. Toggle through step mode rates.
