Different use for Mach4
« on: December 22, 2022, 12:41:05 PM »
We make some bending machines as well as cnc routers for the sign industry.
We use Mach4 to run all the machines.
If you scroll down on the page the link takes you to you will see a video for one of the machines.
Definitely different and I thought some might like to see a different use for Mach4.

Hi,
I have retro fitted a large Cincinatti Guillotine in recent times. The backstop is driven by a servo and gearbox, and it has a dog-clutch
type drive engagement to operate the blade, in turn driven by servo driven linear actuator. Given that I'm so familiar with Mach4 I elected to use it and an ESS.

In reality Mach4 has vastly more capacity than required for this application, but it does have an editable screen etc, which all makes a conversion possible.

Craig,

It did take some interesting code to get it working.
Nothing hard just different.
I had a good time.
We use the PMDX-126 and an ESS.
Andy at Warp 9 did some special code on his plugin to help me out.
