General Mach Discussion / Re: Another G-Code Loading Problem
« on: February 28, 2007, 08:56:13 AM »
I see the error with the Arc's...
There are no Arc's in the program  ;)  if you would like to look for arc's in a program look for G2 or G02 and G3 or G03

Hope that helps
Brian

for something like that we like to send points to a buffer telling you where you need to be every 1ms If you can setup your fifo beffer to about 256 deep that should work... that is how the Gcode works and then you need to have some way that we can tell you to jog. How are you going to get the data to the device?

BTW the Com port is out ;)

If that was me I would do the following...
Go to automation direct and look at there 1kw med inertia drives, motors and cables. it will be about 1500 and axis but you will never have an other problem if you do this... OR you could look at the CNC Teknix drives. I will be testing one soon on an SEM motor like the one that you have.

Best of luck
Brian

That is a bad driver test.. it should look like a flat line...

Do you have a desktop that you can test with? if you are going to use that computer you need to use the optimization doc to see if you can get the driver test better.

Hello EngPunk,
I think you need to have a look at what is in the machine now and what you can save. You will find that it is not as simple as loading new software :( But it is doable and it is a ton of fun to make it work with new software. You need to have a very good understanding before you start taking parts out of the mill.

Posta  pic of what is in the boxes on the mill and we can tell you what you have ;)

Thanks
Brian

Great! I just wanted to be sure that all was good... I should have known that you would have it all fixed in that time

You can do that now but you are going to have to learn C++ and how to write the firmware to make the hardware work... if you are up to it go for it!

Run the Driver test and tell me what you see (BTW you can't have mach3 open at the same time)

The type of amps that you have in the machine. they are analog torque amplifiers and will not run from the P Port. BUt will run from the Galil or you at the S&D to analog cards (Never used them)
