Ok guys...I am hoping someone else has had this issue crop up.
For quite some time I have set my tool length and height by the tried and tested paper method.
But as with all things progress must happen for profit.
But now I cry......
What's happening is that when I setup my auto tool zero device I wire it as directed. One lead to 5vpc....one lead to pin 11....and one bridging the 5vpcgrnd to the ground for limits and e stop.
Now when the unit is activated and the digitize diagnostic icon/light turns on when the touch plate touches the tool ok....I manually lift it to the tool tip...I will explain why in a sec....so I safely assume my wiring at this stage is correct.
Buuuuuuuut.....I have no motor axis movement at all.....I cannot jog, mid or have a program move the equipment.
If I remove the wiring and disable the probe I have full control of my axis movement.
I have this breakout board and using this instructable to make the touch plate.
