General Mach Discussion / Setting and backing them up
« on: June 03, 2012, 04:10:03 PM »
I had a bit of a scare to day went to use my mill for the first time in a few mouths and i had a bit of hard time getting the PC to boot up now i didn't care about the PC failing i was scared to hell about the loss of all my settings in Mach and after looking in the system folders i cant pick out what files i need to save to inport in to a fresh PC if all does fail.

So can some one tell me the name or the location of the files i need to save so i dont have to spend hrs writhing it all down or trying to set up every thing out of memory.

Cheers for any any help

General Mach Discussion / RPM and counting ?
« on: February 23, 2010, 05:13:25 PM »
Can any one tell me if I'm right here

In ports and pins/inputs iv got Index switched on so when i earth pin 10 on and off i get a rpm count on my screen.

Is this the right why about getting a rpm count on my screen if so is it OK to just use a hall effect sensor/pickup on my spindle. one pass over the pickup = rpm or do i need to look at this in a diffrent way.

Some thing like a disc with lots of slots in with a total diffrent type of pick up.

Either way can some one point me at a good set up/pick up to use

General Mach Discussion / Charge pump is it that simpel ????
« on: January 18, 2010, 05:10:17 PM »
Can some one tell me if I'm right here.  If I'm in ports and pins / outputs and if i set charge pump port 1 and pin 1 that's it charge pump is working.

Then i can remove the jumper from my bob so when i start the PC the vdf want fire up and once mach is up and running i can move my motors.

I'm asking as it just seems to simple there in no LED on in my diagnostic screen ?
