LazyCam (Beta) / Lcam Rev 2.02
« on: May 21, 2007, 10:16:24 AM »
Hello,
Lcam Rev 2.02 is on the web and there have been many changes (some I hope you will not see)! You will see that there is now  a tool table... The tool table will store the Feed speeds, spindle speed and depth per pass for each tool. You can have the same tool number for more then one tool as well.. So this is how we are thinking that you will use it:

T1 1/2 Inch Mill AL Rough
T1 1/2 Inch Mill AL Finish

This would give you two parameters for the same tool... You also could set the tool number to zero and Lcam will not output the tool number but will change the cutting parameters. So play with it and tell me what you think about how it works :)

There is not table for Plasma but the changes are done to every layer (you should be cutting the same plate in one Tap file). We were thinking that you didn't need to have a table for the plasma but we could be wrong...
There have been no changes to the turn code, we will work on turn after we have Mill and Plasma done.

Thanks
Brian

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Tab Feature
« on: May 21, 2007, 12:33:51 AM »
Hello Mike,
I added the tools to calc the points in the path where the tabs should be... now I just need the time to change the drawing class to show the tabs and so on.

Thanks
Brian

Is this a desktop or a notebook computer? Is it shared Ram for the video (onboard video)?

I was talking to Art about it and we are thinking that it could be a ram problem...
Run MsConfig and turn off all everything in the startup tab. That may help

Thanks

What do you have for Ram in the computer?

in the y axis you have 1/1018.589 = .0009 units per step. but you are doing micro step so it is only going to be accutate to about .009*10 = .009 . You should see much better results on your X axis... How is the X axis? I think you need to add about a 4-5 to 1 reduction to get it as good as the other axis

Thanks

I like the look of the X3's :) OR the IH machines

Take a look:

If you can spend more the Tormach is a nice mill :) I have a friend that got one and it runs nice!
Thanks

It sounds like you are not getting the roughing code from BobCad... I don't know how to run BobCad at this point but others on the board should be able to help you.
Thanks

You will have to dig to see if you can run it with Mach3... It looks like it is running on a DSP and they run step and direction
