Title: Any idea, pls
Post by: Jackma7634 on December 15, 2023, 05:49:27 AM
Hi, I'm new to the forum. My name is Peter and I have a problem with the Mach4 function: current Hi / Low.
Got mach4 build 4612
ESS Smoothstepper Plugin Version 275.
I'm in the process of converting an old ISEL portal milling machine from DOS to Windows.
I would like to continue to use the old motor drivers and so it would be important for me to activate the current reduction when the machine is not running.
Unfortunately that doesn't work.
I configured the output in the ESS plugin. In my case port 2 pin 6. The whole thing is also taken over in Mach4. I expected that the
Output level at pin 6 changes from Hi to Low, or vice versa, depending on the config. If I switch from active hi to active low in the ESS configuration, the output level on pin 6 changes, i.e. the configuration should in principle be correct. Only when moving or when the machine is at a standstill nothing changes.
Maybe someone can help me. I'm grateful for every tip.
Peter

not sure if I understand the problem.. are you saying you want the Step/Dir pins to be low when idle or inactive (technically thats the same condition).. or are you indicating something else?  ???
