General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach 3 Froze in Middle of Cycle

Do you have teh watchdog active ? IF SO turn it off and save then reopen.

You need to see where you have the G28 defined as.  With M3 it is backwards to most other controllers . In M3 G28 is a defined position and G30 is the Rehome home position(backwards).

NOW why the G91 is added I don't have a clue as it has no roll it the call.

Simply tell it to SAVE the fixtures on close. I t will open back exactly where you left the DROs reading when you closed.

I agree you should be able to setup teh motion controller JUST like you would with a new printer. PULG it in and Mach4 should load the plugin and be ready to go. YOU hook up the wires to where there are suppose to go and you have motion.  You would ONLY need to setup the steps per Unit in  Mach4. That is easy enough to do AND could be preconfigured for a Standard type setup (G540 Gecko).

Of course you need a MAch4 EASY screenset that has what you NEED already developed and working. THIS is not rocket science any more (;-).

I HAVE been working on a solution BUT Mach4 will not stay up long enough for me to get much done at a time and I am getting pretty cranky about it . A trash can and a pint of GAS and a match have come to mind many times (;-) in the last 2 week I have tried to work on it. GGGRRRR,

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach 4 Bug Reports

The Mach4 screen editor is crashing on an hourly basis. You never KNOW what sets it off. A lot of times it is WHEN you go to SAVE that it crashes. AND that is a real treat to endure. When it crashes it locks Windows HARD requiring you to power it down then restart.

NOT good, (;-) TP

I had tried the same type thing with using Lua sockets and got the same results. It seems there is something MISSING in Mach4 that allows it to USE the outside functions. OR none of us know the secret handshake to make it work(;-). I could be a simple PATH problem as the Sockets are LOOKING for a Lua install . It may NOT know that Mach4 IS LUA..

I was trying to get Mach4 to be able to TEXT and email. Something Mach3 does quiet well with Cypress Basic.  The ONLY way I could get it to work was to Os.execute out and from WINDOS RUN a CB/vb script that I used with Mach3 . From there it worked.  Just a wee bit clumsy to use.

That reall y does little good as you can JOG in any direction.  you COULD create a button that ONLY allows you to jog in the opposite direction.  My opinion if they cannot look at teh machine and SEE where they are at and determene which direction they need to jog  they need to stay away from it in the first place. In reality IF they are hitting the limits they have already messed up the part.

Rule #36  MAKE SURE the part will cut in the space alloted BEFORE you push the CUT button. A simple dry run around the perimeter does very well to see this AS does looking at the  part MIN MAX values and use a tape measure. A miin max of 6x6 will NOT cut on a 4x4 table.

Common sense goes a LONG way with using CNC and keeping ALL your fingers .  I would be teaching that part FIRST.

HIYA Steve I had that checked in testing.  Thnaks for putting teh version udates on yoour site THAT is a HUGE help to us that are testing Mach4.  Do you maintain a list like that for your Control boards ??? I have looked at your products but have never used any to date. I am looking to test teh Plug N Play theory of a Mach4 EASY setup.Where the plugin is predefined and teh USER does NOT have to configure anything as it is completly setup and ready to run . JUST land the wire to the correct terminal and GO. Steps per would be about the ONLY thing that has to be set and there would be a fill in the blank box to do that.

Mach4 needs to get off the ground running(;-)

Thanks For the TIme, (;-) TP_

Also I see where the latest version allows Math expressions to PRINT to the status line on runtime . BUT I can't get it to work here. I do not SEE where you can turn it on anywhere. That would be nice because you could clear the history file on a new run and record the Program run and verify the values and even save the History file.  COOL  if it works. That wold help out in ISO9000+ verification records as well.

The keyboard plugin crashed 3 out of the 4 times I tried it. I did get it to take 1 time but you have to be very fast at it to get out before teh crash occurs. It locks up WINDOS hard.
