I find this quite unusual, especially since there is no option in the forum that will allow this, not even for Admin staff.
Try clicking the profile button for at the top of this page and chaning your notification settings.

I've unchecked everything in notifications-profile to no avail. They just keep comming.

Are you sure you are not talking about the Yahoo forum?
You will need to go into Yahoo from a link in one of the emails and change the settings.
