Problems with ver. ...062 on WinXP
« on: August 06, 2018, 09:34:01 PM »
When i try to load a g-code with a half-sphere on winXP machines, the image comes out like this and the machining toolpath acts in the same way. It goes longer in -x direction than in the other directions. What may be wrong?

Looks like it is a problem with your generated Gcode.

If you attach your Gcode file it can be checked.

So you say. ;)
The attached file shows the pathing. Notice that the pathing is NOT based on the center of the sphere.

Did you get the same result on your machine with this g-code? What is then wrong with the code and why does it work properly on my win-7 installation?

Here is the image from my win-7 PC. I have no cnc-mill connected to this PC, so I haven´t tried to make a sphere with it, but when I run the program offline, the x an y movements are at the same level. There is not an incremental -x value then.

Your IJ Mode is wrong, put a G91.1 on a line of its own at the start of the code and it will look fine.
It can also be changed in General Config but I personally prefer to have it in my G Code as that will ensure it is correct no matter which mode Mach is in at the time of loading the code.

Thankyou very much Hood! You solved this problem for me..
Do you think I need this line also in codes which I generate in Vectric´s V-carve? If so, are there any ways to add this line automatically every time I create new codes with that program?

The backplot of the gcode was for absolute IJ mode which is my default mode of operation. Should have mentioned that in my reply.

You should be able to edit the post processor in Vectric to put the G91.1 in. If you are not sure how to do that then the other option is to change the default in Mach. As said though code can change the IJ mode so I prefer to have it in the code itself as you always know even if Mach is defaulted to the opposite the code will still run correctly.

The setting is on the General Config page (from Config menu)
