Mach 4
« on: June 27, 2018, 02:43:21 PM »
Is mach 4 really this difficult!
I sorted through mach 3 demo and decided to try mach 4 seeings i will be buying a license eventually.Mach 4 uses some different terms and i can't carry over my mach 3 settings. The PDF mach 4 install/setup guide says and describes  alot of things and no info on how or what to set to.
There has to be a video or documentation sheet with step by step directions for Hobbyist's who want to use mach 4 router 3 axis and have very little experience  with the terms and technology involved.

I need some help????

What is lua and do i nee it for mach 4 ??

The more i read about the more frustrating it gets. Now this lua thing came up and all i want to do is use mach 4 router. Maybe this is a bad choice for the beginner. No one seem to want to talk to someone just starting out to learn cnc.
Mach 3 demo was kind of fun to figure out.
It never mentioned LUA.

LUA, Do i need it to run mach 4 demo? I want to try before i buy, makes sense to me!
Help

Install Mach 4 demo with uc100

4.2.0 3804 build
Have been trying to set up mach 4 demo for a month now and it is very disappointing so far. NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BEGINNER. Retired people want simple and explanation of terms. STEP BY STEP WHAT TO DO AND WHAT YOU NEED TO RUN. Click this and then click that.

OK, enough

Now can anyone help me do this, my grand kids will be very thankful
I want to make some intricate parts for a savings bank i have designed and tested, just need a way to make the parts, Birthday gifts, Big switch for a retired cabinet maker.

No, unless you want to modify the basic installation.

Hi,
I presume you have this manual:

http://www.machsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Mach4%20CNC%20Controller%20config.pdf

And this one for the UC100:

http://cncdrive.com/MC/UC100%20datasheet/UC100%20users%20guide.pdf

You will also need the UCx00setup.exe to install the UCx00 USB interface on your PC
and UC100_Mach4.zip which has the UC100 plugin and the signature file.

Do you have all of these? Have you tried installing them....what happened?

Hey Joe,

I am trying to download Mach 4 onto Windows 7 3.16 GHZ 4GB SSD, but when running Mach 4 I am getting a debugging error. I have tried suppressing the report and continuing with the report generation, but either way, the Mach 4 freezes and will not continue passed this point. Any suggestions? I will attach the debugging report.
