Using Both Probe and Tool Setter
« on: January 10, 2018, 10:03:11 AM »
Hi, I was wondering how people recommend wiring a system with both a touch probe and tool height setter.  I have a Pokeys57CNC board which contains only a single probing input.

Should I just put them in Series and "pretend" there is only one probe in software, or is there a better way?

I highly doubt you'll be using both at once. Install a connector that you can disconnect them at will. I use a 3.5mm stereo jack for mine.

I connect both permanently, the probe to Mach4's Probe input and the tool height gauge to Mach's Probe1 input. The probe uses G31.0 and the TH gauge G31.1. Provided your controller honours these inputs it all works fine.
