My Y is not too accurate but it is getting me by.
I'm practising making a few signs, and asking as I don't expect fine details it will have to do.

Yes I ran the 2 nd file you sent and the pockets we way off. Ie the pockets drifted off more than 1 inch.
I'm using vcarve pro soon at the stage of learning how to create  round pockets inside a vector

I'm not set up with a cut through spoil board at this time so if I could just start with just cutting out 3 pocket holes
That will be a start for me.

I'm still having fun though

That's the way to go - start simple and progress from there.

(Routing circular pockets can place quite a lot of stress on a machine and it is likely to show up any weaknesses which can then be dealt with accordingly).
