vcarve update not recognized by mach 3
« on: February 09, 2017, 09:14:41 AM »
Hello- I've been running Mach 3 on a home made router for about 5 years now and more recently on a home made plasma machine for about 2 years. My plasma uses control hardware by Candcnc who also provide a Mach 3 screen with their setup optimized for plasma. On the Mach screen in the upper lefthand corner there is a pulldown menu under "file" that has various affiliated programs listed- on my machine I have "lazycam" (not used), "sheetcam", and "vcarve". Recently I've upgraded from Vcarve 7 to Vcarve 8 pro, and the program runs ok in stand alone mode, but when I try to run Vcarve via the pulldown menu, Mach 3 runs Vcarve 7. Vcarve 8 files won't run on earlier versions so I need Mach 3 to recognize the upgrade. Anyone have some advise on what/where I need to do? I have also posted a similar question on the Candcnc board. Thanks.

Just thought I'd post a follow-up in case someone else runs into the same problem. Manually moving the Vectric .dll files into Mach 3 plugins folder did not work nor did moving the Vectric win 32 folder into Mach 3. What worked was upgrading Vcarve 7.0 to 7.5 with the Vectric patch, then installing Vcarve 8.
Showed right up in mach 3.
