Exiting the Wiz without it saving JOB.
« on: January 08, 2015, 08:01:45 PM »
HIYA Ron , After about a 1/2 hr of work in the Wiz I saved out the Gcode and then Closed down and I realized too late that I did not save the jog (;-).

It would be nice to have an auto save of the job before you shut down the WIZ or at least the option before you could change anything like new job or save gcode to SAVE  before you loose it all.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

Sorry but it did NOT ask that I just went back and checked (;-)

I save the Gcode file then closed the WIZ. It closed without asking (;-)

OK I closed it from the X icon at the top of the page not from File exit.

I don't think thats a glitch. I believe the X icon is a direct window command and windows blows the program away without giving it a chance to clean up. Thats why apps have an Exit button. Behind it I can have code to do anything I need to do.

Mach3 does not seem to have that problem I can exit with the X and it asks if I want to save. Same for Lua wizards .

Next Glitch. I created a known part (one I cut all the time) in the WIZ. It has 3 sections that are drill pattern(G81) 1 Hole rec and 2 hole circle.  ALL is well at this point it produces Gcode as expected. BUT IF I go and change the first drill pattern to be a CirclePocket it will change ALL the Drill patterns after that point to be a circle pocket as well.

I included a JOB sample for you to see.

Also could you include a Tap cycle (G84)  In the Drill Function selections for all the drill patterns. It would save having to go back and edit the GCODE to change from a drill cycle to the tap cycle.

Thanks for your time,

(;-) TP

Ron, look into the "Closing" event.
