What are Flash Screens ?

Sorry for the dumb question, I've looked and searched and really can't get a clear answer to what Flash Screens are ?

Can someone please enlighten me.  ???

Mach3 screens created with Flash.

Flash Screensets can be customized far more than normal Mach3 screensets.
Unfortunately, there's never been any documentation on creating them, so there aren't many out there.
