Introducing a break in the machining job

Hello,
With my friend we are using Mach 3 on our small CNC during our leasure time.

We have a question?
How is it possible to introduce a break in the cycle of machining in case of machining for long times (above hours)?

We'd like to have the following actions:
- after 1 hour of machining,
- move up the Z axis for about 10 mm,
- stop rotation of the spindle,
- make a 15 min. break,
- start again rotation,
- reach the last point and continue program.
 
Please advise ! ::)

Do we have to use macros or is there another way already forseen in Mach 3.

It can be done by adding code to the macropump, what you must remember is that the machine will set off again on its own and may cause injury to anybody that thinks its stopped.  Not recommended.

Thanks for your quick answer.
This was my first post on a US forum ;)

Concerning security, you're fully right but the small drilling mill is located in the cellar and we could lock the door during machining.

Do you have any experience with macros because we haven't..
A further help would be appreciated.

I would add a few places in the code to look at the tool and so on. It is simple to add in the code for that and you will then know where the tool is going to pull out.

PS you are going to need an M0 ;)
