HICON Evaluation
« on: December 20, 2012, 12:26:02 AM »
Is anyone using this controller?  Not much action in the forum in the last 6 months.
For anyone using it is it much different from the DSPMC controller?

Hi Peter,
I have both and they are similar in use except you are using steppers vs servos. I have only gotten the Hiconn to the point of jogging motors on my lathe before life got in the way again. I am back in the shop again and will be setting up the lathe soon. (famous last words).

We never have the time or money to do it right the first time, but we somehow manage to do it twice and then spend the money to get it right.

Mike,

Thanks for the response.  I have the DSPMC version and want to change my servo drives to Step/Dir and use the Hicon.  I am hoping to change everything over without lots of rewiring.  Also looking at another ethernet controller that has all I/O 24V tolerant (my biggest complaint about the DSPMC) so I don't need interface boards, relays, etc.

If you decide to sell the DSPMC let me know via PM.
