Blower belts came in the mail today. The fit is perfect. With any luck I should be back at it early next week.

Hey Sam!  How much does that space rent for?

For you? I'll make a trade. Motor prints for space.  :D Wouldn't do me much good though, as the list of things I want/need to make is to long already.

Crankshaft, rods, pistons, and rings. I think I have about everything else made and stashed somewhere. I know for sure I have all the parts to complete the heads. I get those 4 items done and I'll be real close.

Well I have the easy part done. The throws are the worst part and I am not looking forward to it.

I am going to try the George Britnell method so I started making a fixture to hold the crank for milling operations. Once complete I can pre-mill the throws so there will be alot less to remove on the lathe. The fixture looks big but I made it work for a future project.

Hey Steve, Looks great. What's the story on the blower housing? Did you have someone cast it for you? Looks like a fun project. No, I don't think I'll start one.

No I cast it myself. I made the pattern a while ago. I poured it a week before the NAMES show and them poured a few more at the show. My pal Rick does casting demonstrations and that was the pour. Rick does the spiel and answers questions and I melted the metal and then poured.

If you look at this picture you can see the castings out front and the pattern peeking out from behind the engine.

This is me pouring the blower housings at NAMES. The flask is the blower and the bucket is a list foam pattern. I thought the foam went bad because it wouldn't take metal but it looked good when we pulled it out.
