I wanted to say thanks for all of your help...  Below is a demo of my system fully functional.

Thanks,
JH

VERY sweet!!! LOVE your MPG motion, very smooth!!!

just a side note for your future project(s), to cut down on your wiring, (at the pokeys terminals), you could use a Matrix Keyboard and "tap out" the membrane keys wiring to your "Real" screen buttons. You could also use the Auxillary Data Bus, OR the Matrix LEDs to give light feedback to your buttons. The Matrix Keyboards for
a 4x4 is only 8 wires(16 buttons), and for a 16x16 is only 16 wires(64 buttons). the Matix LED (or ADB), only uses 3 wires, and that circuit will break out to your leds.

But, if you have a low button count, or button light count, then if your below the matrix key wire count it is best to go the pin to IO route.

Super nice job on your panel!! Love the Metal shroad around it!!!!!

JH,

Impresive.  Did you wire all that using a single PoKeys with terminals?

Yep, the entire connection to Mach3 is via the PoKeys USB interface.  I had to add some 74LS05's (open collector outputs) to drive my LEDs buttons as they were wired for 12VDC and a 3 NPN3055 power transistors to drive the 3 banks of buttons LEDs from a single output, buffering the PoKeys outputs to the NPN with 74LS04s

The only thing that I would recommend for PoKeys to change, is to make the board a little bigger with larger terminals and mounting holes.  Its so small, that my big fat fingers had a hard time getting it connected up and I had to use double sticky tape to mount it.

Thanks
JH

JH,

Have you seen the mother board and expansion boards we have made for the PoKeys? : http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/product_info.php?cPath=54&products_id=219, http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/index.php?cPath=54.

They make this kind of setups doable for a lot of people.

Nice Job, Thou it looked to me, that your Z axis was going the opposite way when moved with the MPG.

I can vouch for Arturo's PoKeys stuff, works great, gives you options and better wire terminals. One issue is you need the PoKeys without the wire terminals to fit to his motherboard, so if you have a wire terminal one you need the other one. For me it was worth it. I liked the LEDs on the add-on boards for trouble shooting while setting up all my buttons and stuff. Once setup the LEDs just sit there and glow, but it's great for troubleshooting/setup. Learn about all the combinations before you buy because there are lots of choices!!!

Good stuff!

I think your right, the Y is backwards too.  Just swap the A and B lines and it should be fixed.  Thanks for pointing it out.
