Different i/o's at the same time
« on: August 29, 2010, 11:59:00 AM »
Does anyone know if the mach software will allow me to use the galil plugin, the printer port i/o and a tcp modbus at the same time??
i was going to get a few outputs on the printer port just to get some functionality, then add either a pci or modbus i/o controller for tool change and other
functions.

thanks steve

If you use an external motion plugin, the printer port can't be used for I/O.  However, the TCP MODBUS will work fine in tandem with the Galil.

ok no printer port....
But, i'm hoping i can use the few outputs on the galil controller (1842) without interfering with an external I/O???
i really only need spindle on and coolant.....

Steve,
Galil outputs are fine, but they must be set thru Mach or Mach will change them back in 100 ms. Just map them and use Mach to control them.
