I hope someone who is running Phil's lathe screen set can help me.

I had a mach3 meltdown and need the image files that reside in the NewScreen folder that you create when you install Phil's lathe screen set. I think its called #22Lathe.lset

If someone could please go into their NewScreen folder and copy all the image files for me and email them to me I would be MOST GRATEFUL!

Hope you can help,
Nate

natefoerg,

I use a modified version of the screen set.
See the attached info in the  first post of this thread.

Hello Rich-
I have got used to the standard 1024l.set and want to move forward
I actually need to have 3 axis functionality so that I can use tailstock for
drilling etc??

I installed the mill screen set (1024) but it seems only to work in radius mode
while all my drawings are in diameter mode.

Am I missing something in the settings ( also the 1024 set is not displaying the
toolpath)??

But now I just picked up your 3 page lathe screen which i would like to instal
before making major changes.

Does this screen set have 3 (or more) axises?

(I would choose to work with your code rich because I have been following your
support in the forum and I feel we are speaking the same language!!! )

Best regards

Fred,
The screen set has X,Z,A . You can change the A, and what ever buttons etc. are related to A, to Y axis rather easily in the screen editor.
May consider running Mach version of 3.043.062  .

I have modified the Three Page Screen Set a lot, to my liking, and continue to modify it adding with all kinds of stuff.
I use a quick change for my lathe ( drill holes using the Z via a drill mounted in a holder ) and added tool probing in the setup screen to find the lathe center, populate and manipulate the tool table, etc.
Enchanced most of the screens, added wizards and in particular the threading, drilling and the conversational screen which can do a bunch of things.
Ie; Probe for points on a piece and create a dxf file of them.  I attached some screen shots of the set.

Thanks rich--
I dont mind what the third axis is called - so "A" will be sh for that.

Thanks for the input and I will upload and try out ADSP

A is a rotary axis ( ie; index or linear). I believe you would want to change the DRO and associated buttons for the Y.
Then gcode could be more conventional for using the motorized tailstock.

What file are you talking about?

Fred,
Install per instructions and also install #22 and #24 lathe files shown in the first post of this thread.

THEN just copy the attached #24latheY.lset file to the Mach3 directory.

The attached screen set has the Y axis instead of A.
You need to create a new bitmap to change the "Zero World A" button says to
show Zero World "Y".
The button as is will work for the Y but you really should change what it shows.

Merry Christmas,
RICH

So your going to use the Y axis on the lathe for drilling.
Assume you will just manually move the tailstock and that the ram is motorized.
 Correct?
