I have never used a gamepad but I do use keygrabber with a keyboard emulator on my Bridgeport so I am thinking it is a similar thing.
What I have is my shortcut to start Mach is actually directed at the Kegrabber.exe and keygrabber is then set to open my Mach profile automatically. That means when I click on the shortcut for Mach it opens keygrabber then it is keygrabber that opens Mach.

To do that you right click on your desktop Icon that you use to Start your Mach profile and then choose properties. In the target field it will say something like

C:\Mach3\Mach3.exe /p Mach3Mill

If you change that to say

C:\Mach3\KeyGrabber.exe /p Mach3Mill

Then when you double click it keygrabber will start and then automatically start Mach.

It is recommended that you DO NOT install the drivers that came with the gamepad.
