Wizard questions?
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:16:28 AM »
Two quick questions about. The docs say you can save all your wizard DRO's with SaveWizard(). I want to build wizards right into my screen set, so how can I save the DRO's if the wizard is not a standalone wizard?  Building the wizards into the screenset would eliminate waiting for the wizards to load.

If I can't save the built in wizards, how can I call a specific wizard from a button?

You can simply add a screen to the standard screen set. Make a button on the main screen to go to your page- DoButton('page number')

Mach will save all the DROs and LEds into the xml of the base screen set. You dont need to use SaveWizard()

The only problem with this is you are sharing the DRO numbers with the base screen set- you will have to look through the screen set to be sure you dont duplicate any of them. You are also sharing the number set with any macropump that runs. If you stick to the higher end of the numbers- say 1200- 1256 you might be OK.

Do I need to use Config >Save Settings? Or will the User DRo's be saved automatically when exiting?

This will be a completely custom screenset, so sharing DRO's shouldn't be a problem.

Ger,

If you want, download a copy of the "CNC Saw" screen set I did. It was a wizard made into an operator screen. Give you a place to start.
