Suppose really this is a question for Art but maybe someone else will know.
I was wondering if it would be possible to add the capability of a DRO to use script. I was watching the video for making a button to start an onscreen keyboard and thought it would be great if the script could be added to a DRO. My idea was that a custom onscreen keyboard could be made with just numbers(0 to 9), Enter, minus(-) and point(.) and when a DRO was touched this would pop up at the side and allow the user to input to the DRO. The reason I think this would be good is that there would only be one touch needed to launch the keyboard and as soon as the enter was pressed the screen would go. Dont know if its possible but I am hopeful.

I am still not sure what you are asking, but Art privately sent me a pre beta version of Mach. This version alows a slider to be assingend to the DRO. Meaning you do not need a keyboard to input digits. Its intention is not only asthetic, but will mean you could change the digits via a touch screen too. Is this what you wanted to do in your original post? If so, its release is imminant, excpt I did send him back to do a few modifications b4 he released it.

Benny
Thanks for the reply, I look forward to the release, am just curious as to whether a slider would be sensitive enough but at the same time fast enough for DRO entries, will wait until  the release and see Smiley
Thanks

It just dawned on me what you are asking for, yeh that would be a great idea indeed. I think I know a way to do this. Leave it with me a few days and ill experiment a bit.

Yeh You are right that for big numbers over a smale scale, the accuracy of the slider might be a pain.
Its more intended for things like variable speed control, of feed and spindle etc.
