Another machine (phyzx)

I hope this is the correct place to inform readers of our machine 'XY2' created as a hobby by Phil and myself (Henry), hence 'phyzx'.
(Otherwise, please excuse blatant self-promotion).
A number of years ago we manufactured a smaller drill/router machine, specifically for PCB work. This was self-contained and performed all the necessary motion and interpolation using an Atmel microcontroller. However, there was little interest in this machine, so we then decided to construct a larger machine which was controlled by a PC to allow users to access all those drawings/CAM files which are available in the PC world. To cut a long story short we selected MACH3 as the most suitable (best) PC controller. The resultant XY-Z router is comparable to many of the CNC 'self-builds' which are well documented on the 'net', but we decided that we would "productionize" our machine to make it available as a bought item. All of the components, i.e. aluminium extrusions, slides, stepper motors, drivers, psu, switches and interfaces bits are available from 'standard stockists', so there is nothing particularly clever about this particular router. It's just that many 'self-builds' seem to use obscure items, or simply don't offer a kit of parts.
