How large touch screen do I need for Mach3 mill operation? There are some 8 inches screens on Ebay. Do you think I can use one of them?

I use a 12" touch screen.  Very happy with it. 800 x 600 resolution.

To use any touch screen, no matter what size you will need to use a different screenset.

The buttons etc on the standard screen do not lend themselves to touch use.  Too small.

And this is doubly so if you use a small screen like mine.

Look in this screen section of the forum for some that people have made for touch.

Have a look at this thread. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,6204.0.html It is a screen I'm working on for a 19 inch touch screen. The idea is mimic the real controller in function and size. The buttons and code window are the same size on hte touch secreen as they are on the real controller. The real one doesn't have a path display but since there were some buttons I won't be needing I had room to add it.  Smiley Those buttons end up being about .750 inch square. Hope this helps a little.

Hi, I'm currently designing a screen for a 7" touch screen.

I bought a 7" video screen like those used on the headrests of cars, it only has an AV video connection
I fitted the touch screen to it and had to get a VGA to AV converter.

After all the fuss of setting it up, small writing is blurred so all graphics need to be a lot larger so you can read them.

This is because of the low resolution of AV video screens.

In hindsight, I should have looked for a screen that has a VGA input built in and then you will get clearer smaller graphics.

Here is a pic of my 800 x 600 12" screen.

That is the Program Run page of my custom screenset that is showing.
