I will be retrofitting this Hurco over the next few weeks. It has a 12 position tool changer that I will modifying to accept BT 30 tool holders and will be using a DL06 to control the tool changes. I have no manuals what so ever. If any of you do, that would be helpful. I will be using 750watt AC servos for the three axis. I hope to use the exisiting servo and power supply for the tool chain.

Hey Brett,

Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. What type of tool holder does the machine currently use?

At least the thing is Y2K compiant Roll Eyes.

I remember having to put those stickers on all kinds of crap when I worked for Lockheed. As if a machine tool needs to know when or where it is.....half the time I don't even know Cheesy.

Hey Monty,
It uses CT 30 tool holders now. They are very much the same, just the BT30 are cheaper and have more options. The only thing I will have to do I think is have some custom pull studs made and make new arms for the changer. This won't be bad at all. One of the arms is missing a little off the end and was going to make one new one anyways. This one should be much more robust than my stepper machine and faster I hope. This machine has been sitting for years. It was bought as one of a pair and was going to be used for spare parts. Some of the controls were taken and all but 2 of the air selonoids. Those are expensive Sad . I think I will be using SMC modular manifold and valves.

Bummer about the solenoids. I've had some luck buying them surplus. You might try surplus center.

Still not inexpensive, but hopefully a little less than what you have been looking at. If not there is always fleabay.

Maybe I'll have my lathe running by the time you need those pull studs.  Wink

Hey Rc,
I have no idea what year it was made. I hope to get it cleaned up this week and look for some tags. It has a 5HP spindle.
