G100 and VFD`s
«

Hi all,
I am trying to control HSD (cnc Router) spindle speed with the G-100,through a VFD and not sure
if I can.
The VFD manuals states it can be controlled 4 ways
1. By the digital Keypad (on the vfd)
2. 0 -10 volts input..... I understand the G-100 outputs at only 5v ,Analog.
3. 4 -20mA input......
4. RS-485 comm port
5. Potentiometer on the keypad (on the vfd)
Any help or info would be great.
Regards

Does your VFD have a scaling parameter for input analog voltage. It would be used to tell the drive that 5V=10V.

Thanks for the reply,
Sorry I am unsure if the VFD has or can scale parameters,
How would I tell, would the manual say this.

The manual should. Do you have a pdf manual you can post or link to one?

You could use a DigiSpeed-GX. It was designed for this purpose and converts the 0-5Vdc from the G100 to an Isolated 0-10Vdc suitable for your VFD.

Thanks for the feed back,
Before I buy anything else for this setup I wanted to be sure
that there wasnt any other way, something I missed.
I have attached the manual for the VFD,
If anyone can see whether I can do it or not ,I would
be greatful if someone could let me know.

I think it may be parameter 50, Pot. Freq. gain. Is this all there is to the manual?

Thanks Brett,
I have tryed posting the user manual, but it would not upload
The one I sent last post was the quick start guide.
From the manual all it says on parameter 50 is
PR.50
Potentiometer Frequency Gain............ Factory setting 100.0
Setting 0.10 to 200.0% .....................Unit 1%
This parameter sets the ratio of analog input Vs Frequency output
Which sounds like what I am after, would I set it to 200% ? then.
ie 5volts = to 10 volts input.
Thanks

Yup, I think that is what you will need to do. Give it a try and see.
