Hi,

As usual a new version available and I am doing tests. I have downloaded the last version of Quantum, aprox 16 MB, it says it is 2.43 version. Great disappointment. I have just upgraded w/o any changes. No parameter was touched by me and what I checked was the same as previous, but the movement during the program is terrible. It is much, much worst than Mach3. A lot of BANG BANG. There are no smooth moves. The pieces I made are full of chatters and marks and the shape of carvings are like being made by a shaky hand.

Do you think I have done something wrong? Did someone test the version? Any ideas?

Thank you,

Zoltan

Hi,

I am the only one experienced this? No opinion? No help? No ideas?

At this time it is ONLY out for testing  and NOT for use on a production table... there are settings that need to be set to make it work with your table and as we have time we will add posts about how to setup the software... Art has been testing the software and there are a few others that have tested it as well... Please don't use this software if we are not asking you to test it Sad (In the end if you are just playing with it that is okay as well)  It is a product for the future and there are no docs. So look on the Yahoo forum and I think Art posted how to set up Q there... I have not been testing it so I can't help you at this time.

thanks

Brian,

Thank you for answer. Actually, I have used already the version 2.00 and it worked EXTREMELY WELL. I am only frustrated now because I do understand why that the new version instead of working better is worst as I did not change anything. I am unhappy because I must reinstall previous version, and I can not benefit of new version.

I tried the latest version 2.43, and i think it's better than the older one

The older one was too slow in 3D toolpath, this one is faster and smooth enough, the trajectory planner is batter, it slow down when a curve is very small.
It makes my router work at 14.000 mm/min without lose steps, normally it works at 5.000/5.500 mm/min on mach 3.

Wow..this is great. Could you, please, give me your settings? I would like to try it. My machine now is doing only bang bang and all cuts have marks on them.

Thank you.

I set the acceleration at 1.000 mm's/sec/sec and "AntiJerk Path Smoothing" at 11.000
Constant velocity enabled
