Just finished the control box on my Denford Novamill, it is 6 x 8 x 10 ins. My advice is to use a box at least twice the size you think you will need!!!
List of contents:-
3 Routout(UK) 2.5 amp stepper drivers.
CNC4PC C11G BOB.
24V 6Amp Power supply.
5V 2.5Amp Power supply.
Spindle motor Contactor.
E-stop relay.
Novolt release starter.
Big fan and filter.

The front panel was engraved with a 1.0 mm cutter using the Mach Write wizard.

Mounted on the back is the SMC-00 DC spindle motor controller from www.beel.ca and an EMC Filter.

The numbers, which are 5mm high, were created in DesignCad using a vector font, exported as a DXF, then imported into Lazycam. I used a small pneumatic impact engraver resiliently mounted, to mark on the 45mm dia stainless steel tube.  DesignCad has a plug-in, ContourCam, which I have yet to play with.

Still learning but the curve IS getting less steep.

The engraving laminate was from  http://www.techsoftuk.co.uk the code was TAP-F5 white on black. They are a distributor for Rowmark.

 Looks good but maybe on the thin side for what I want. Might be an idea to get some 5mm Alu anodised and see how things work out, I think the local platers may be able to do it for me.

Hi Ian,

Could I ask a question?  I see you're using 2.5A stepper drivers (Routout), I've just got a Novamill minus its electronics so I'm adapting it to Mach3 with new drivers.  I see that the Z axis drive seems to use a NEMA 38 motor, is 2.5A enough to drive this please?

All three axes were Nema 23, so I didn't have any problems. If your steppers are eight lead, you might be able to seriies connect them for a lower drive current.
