Phil,

Good questions.

The crosshairs are generated by Mach,  to center them you do it by adjusting the screws.  They seem to hold pretty well for me.  I do occasionally check and recenter, especially if it is a critical measurement.

Maybe some of the other users could give some feedback here.  How often do you have to recenter?  I have sold around 20 of these and I think everyone is happy with them,  I get good feedback on my workmanship but haven't heard any feedback on the practical use from day to day.

All,

These have been selling rather well,  thanks for all your orders.

I have had made several of these in a stepped shaft style and they seem to work well.  Some folks have two different machines they use them on and need two sizes of shaft.  I made one down to 1/8" shaft then stepped to 1/4" (steel), I think it was a dremel he was using here.   A couple of others wanted 3/8 & 1/2",  each step is around .6" long.

I am upto 30 sold today.

Thanks Arnie

I really love mine. Works like a charm.
The use is to measure stuff, to zero my x and Y axis (edge finder) and take quick screen captures of pieces.
I'd miss it now. And thanks again for making the 3/8th and 1/2Inch combo. It's also invaluable to position my router on my legacy mill.
Cheers

Not sure how that could be done,  I assume you are referring to the computer to recognize on its own a particular reference point by some sort of optical recognition.

I think all everyone else is doing is observing the video and using it to manually position their x & y.
You can find points on a circle and determine the center using the wizards.  Or visually pickup an edge.

I sent a PM to you Zarzul wanting to buy one.  I just got a Syilamerica X2 and think this would be a great addition to it.

Thanks

Hutchison,

I typically run the camera down to 1/4 inch, some cases I back it out to get a larger picture but for the most part I am really really close, so I can get the highest resolution.
In my posts somewhere I talk about cutting some of the hood back so you can get real close.
