Hello All,
Back in June I Built a CNC router made from plywood. I made the 30 x 50 work surface by creating a torsion box and topping it with a piece of white melamine. The lead screws and lead nuts are .625" 10 TPI and I purchased them from Roton.com. I used 1.25" aluminum angle and sealed 608 ball bearings for the linear rail system. The stepper motors, drives, power supply, breakout board and relay board were all purchased from Probotix.com. I am running 32 bit Windows 7 and using a wireless X-Box controller for my jog box. And finally I found a used Renishaw MP8 wireless probe for creating 3D point clouds. Total investment, including Mach 3, Vectric V-carve pro, and my bare-bones PC from tigerdirect.com, was around $3000.
The Mach 3 has proven to be very good software. It made my router build a lot easier to complete.
My router is my own personal design, However - I did a ton of research online before the build. So -Thank You- to all that have gone before me and smoothed the path to a successful router build.
