I got a 4 Axis Wire EDM screen working, I write to it with OneCNC XR2 Wire.
See Screen Shot.

Scott - way cool - what methods of wire control are you using inside of Mach? (current/gap/tension sense and backup controls?) I have an old wire I'd like to convert over to a nicer control. I"m a big fan of OneCNC, BTW - how do you like the Wire CAM? (Haven't tried it yet m;self.) Offline chat ok, if preferred, thyde at casafrog dot com.
Cheers,
Ted.

Ted,
Yes, I have set up a "Setup" page that I control stuff like (Current, Gap, Tension, (Sense if you mean wire break here, then yes), Back up (if you mean single step reverse run then yes otherwise not sure what you mean).
I am VERY new to Wire EDM, I am helping a guy to rebuild a Burnt out Control now on a Sodik machine. I am going through a PLC DL 205 to control my Analog current and tension, and independent axis control (wire gap). This part is getting very complex, still working on some issues but they are being resolved through trial and error. It would help if I had more experienc operationg and programming one of these machines.
As far as the motion and basic cuttin functions are concerned they are functional. I added a "Custom code" that OneCNC puts out to handle Wire Thread and Wire Cut. I also send out some custiom codes that when a tool path type loads i.e. it will toggle Mach to swicth from 2D to 4D which makes it VERY handy since I sometimes forget to toggle the dual axis slave mode.

Hello,
So like I read you have a lot of experince whit mach and EDM wire machine, but I am build a small edm wire machine, but also the elektronic about it and it is a desk wire EDM machine.
but at the moment I don't not what to go to do to use the mach are the development a micro controler bord, to control the proces, do you have at the moment contol the speed of the step motors on the gap control? But whit my writing to the devloper of the soft where of Mach is was posible the control the speed of the stepmotor treu a input, but it is not posible to let go it back a step and this was very intresting for spooling.
Do you have any experience to use the RS232 whit the mach but this code be intresting to control the rest of the proces
greetings Ben

I use a PLC with an PID loop on an analog module to handle current flow, it has two triggers on the upper and lower perameters, I use the first to high trigger, that activates the cut feed rate by 10% in mach, same for the lower, but raise it. max limits is E-stop conditions, one for broke wire, and one for direct short.
