Hi guys,

I have a very strange problem here. I was running my CNC machine this morning and it was running fine. I turned it off for about 4 hours and when I came back and tried to run a cut the spindle would simply not work at all. all the axis move perfectly and I even plugged the spindle directly to check if it's running and it's fine, but it's not running from mach, either if I try to make it run or if I run a program.

Can someone help me please?

Yes, it flashes like if it was running normally but the router doesn't start. I checked the config a couple of times, turned off and on the machine and pc and still same problem.

What can I do?

Does the spindle have speed control?

You can change the speed but only trough mach3 and I even tried to increase it to the max or min and nothing happens. It's actually the only part that is not responding, all the axis move perfectly

ok, there are normally two functions required to run the spindle.

1. A relay will be energised to enable the spindle.

2. a signal is sent to an analogue board to vary the speed.

start the spindle in mach and listen for the relay activation.

You really need to get in the control box to see what type of spindle controller you have. A pic of the insides will help.

I opened the control box, but the machine is practically new! less than a month old! so everything looks very new.
