Hi, I was running a 3 axis toolpath and in the process the X axis got out of whack so that in the middle of the run the mill was suddenly cutting several inches to the right of where Mach said it should be. It had started out fine and everything going as it normaly does. Could someone help me find the possibilities that would cause the mill to do that?
Everything is clamped down tight. Mach showed nothing out of place. The mill still seems to have free motion in all directions and works fine with the joystick. But the X axis shows 3 or so inches off from where it acutally is. Simulation runs in RhinoCam and Mach both looked good.
Thanks for any suggestions,
puzzled,
Dwight

I would say you have lost steps, presume its a stepper system?
The big clue is the toolpath and DROs in Mach still showing it on track.
Reduce the velocity and/or acceleration a bit and see if its ok.

Ok, that makes sense. I'll try that. Thanks so much.
