In studying the manual reference is made to the MDI line being open or closed.
I know what the MDI line is ------but how do I know if it is open or closed?
How do i open it and how do I close it
regards

Click on it and you can then enter data, click it again and you cant, you will soon see the difference in looks, wee box appears above it. Pressing enter on the keyboard will also open it then you can type.

Also, while the MDI is active, you can toggle through previous entries by using the UP/DOWN arrow keys.
Makes it quick and easy.
Hit
ENTER to open MDI
UP arrow to select previous command
ENTER to execute
ENTER again to close MDI and resume ...

also note that when the MDI line is OPEN it is a different color.......... and while the mdi line is open you CANNOT jog the machine. The ENTER button on the keyboard will also toggle the MDI line.
For Example...... you open the MDI line, execute a command, then go to jog the machine......... It will not jog.... Press enter again and it will close.
