wcarrothers,
You wouldn't happen to be running the ncPod would you? I am wondering what the functionality is at this point. I am considering getting on to run a small (very small) jewelers lathe as the requirements for 2 axis are not so heavy as my mill that I need to run 4 axis' on, which is what I have a G100 build in process for.
THX,

I'm running parallel ports with my mills although I have a G100 spliced in but and can switch back and forth with dip switches in the event I want to use the Grex.. Got the G in an effort to solve a different problem which actually was caused by my system bios (new motherboard). Didn't solve the problem and was unable to use input from my 3 incoder MPG pendant which is something I really like (manual jogging and cutting when I want with separate dials for each axis) so once I got the motherboard sorted I didtched the Grex untill it has support for 3 mpg's at the same time.. Also didn't like a few other things the G would do (or not do) the way I wanted it to. So hopefully it will be something to use in the future but not now.

Thanks, I suppose I could have figured that out if I would have looked harder.
So Q will still use the printer port or will it switch to a USB or something?
Thanks again.

It will still have printer port, but also has other communication methods depending on plugins and third party hardware.

Hi Brian I'm just getting my x axis going thought that I would try quantum to see the difference in jerk .
I'm running about 95 for velocity and 20 for acceleration the frequecy is set at 25 khz the steps per is 8000 ( pacsci drive in the 1/5 micro step mode 5/8-8 acme screw)
the only way that I get a decent s curve on the velocity scope is with the max jerk set to 150 and the perctage box set to 2 % but it was unchecked.
Does it need to be checked or unchecked and what would be a good setting ?
As for the max jerk that setting seems to be quite low am I correct?, what am I doing wrong ?
Do I have my accel to high?
Bob

Set your jerk to about 2000 and don't have the Check checked... also you should be able to double your acceleration
