Should have some input about how it runs on a shopbot today! Smiley I will post the results here as soon as he runs the test

When you do take that video, I want to see a b4 new code and with new code of the glass of water.

I would also be interested to see a b4 and after of a square cut corner on some material.

Please.

EDIT: In layman's terms of explanation, is it like a forward code reader that decides on the machines acceleration deceleration depending on the angles been turned ?

Benny,
I dont think it makes modifications to the acceleration based on the path its gonna take, Instead, like Brian said, its exact stop mode without the jerk.
This is made by having an S curve acceleration instead of a straight ramp like we have now. This is like the image I post below. In the first acceleration profile from rest the machine ramps up with a constant accelertion to desired speed, which means high acceleration on start, during and end of move. In the secont acceleration profile the acceleration actually varies from start to end of move, it starts with low acceleration to get the machine moving and try to reduce the machine Jerk caused by inertia, then peaks at high accereration during the move, and when its about to stop, it deccelerates slowly to reduce the jerk caused by inertia when stopping.
Hope that gets it clear.
Regards
Fernando

Thanks Fernando, that makes sense. Thanks for the diagram too.

I have shamelessly used a demo drawing in RealDraw and modified it to look like this. Dont know why, just coz I guess.

I hope it runs as good as the pic Wink

The tests that we did tonight show that it is better then Mach3! So now we need to start looking at how to auto calc the Jerk ammount. we have a few more testers that need to report back to us, so after that I will tell you all how it worked out Smiley

Nice pic Benny,
You are going to be plugging an Art-poster contest for a first version Quantum software?  Wink
