ok got the jog to work......kinda. my buddy never showed last night so i have been playing with the old computer here is what i found. i do all the pinouts and everything works fine until i enable INPUT1 then jog locks up and won't work on the machine or on the screen. also not sure on if i have the motors set up right i try and run the 2 Y axis motors and the motor i'm calling Y-1 works right but Y-2 doesn't unless i hit the Z axis (page up or page down) i don't even have a motor connected to my Z axis on the g540 i have my Y-2 motor hooked to "A-AXIS" on the g540 i have Y-2 reversed i have played with slaving it to X,Y and Z

not sure what to try next?

Hi Tweakie,
The Manuel that I got with the machine recommends that I config the motor tuning as follows.
X axis Steps 320 Velocity 1500 Acceleration 300 step pulse 10 Dir pulse 5
Y axis Steps 320 Velocity 1500 Acceleration 300 Step Pulse 10 Dir Pulse 5
Z axis Steps 320 Velocity 750 Acceleration 150 Step Pulse 10 Dir Pulse 5

I have confg the motors with the settings., I will have another go at this tomorrow evening with you r suggestion,
I will keep you informed of the out come.

Thanks for your guidance, I really wanting this to work for me, I truly am excited with this interesting hobby.

Regards,

Lou

plasma, not sure where the turn one came from got them both from the same place and i've never loaded a turn profile on my computer. thats odd. anyway i got the machine a little more figured out the max CL mode enabled was checked so changing that made a world of difference. still not sure why i can't enable input 1 in the pins and prots though.
