Physical 'Cycle Start' button
«
on:
October 10, 2011, 07:44:14 PM »
I added a button to function as cycle start, but I would rather it do more than Cycle Start. I changed the cycle start button in the screen set to confirm the machine is homed before executing cycle start, how can I have the physical button do the same thing?

Best way is to get Scott Schaefers MachMad plugin and use it to trigger a macro.

Do you know if that works with the Mach 4 version I'm running, or with the MCB-1?

Swanner that is a SPECIAL version of MACH created and maintained by the MCB-1 group . THEY are the ones you really need to be asking. You are just creating confusion asking those questions here. WE have no idea HOW they have created their SPECIAL version.
Really not fair to ask here, (;-) TP

Give me 10 mins and I will set up the Start button on the Bridgeport and let you know, needs to be done at some point anyway so might as well be now

Nope, plugin will need updated to Rev 4 specs
You could have the macropump watch the input and run the macro if it sees it, thats about the only way I can think of at the moment. Brian was supposed to be adding a way to trigger a macro from an external button but dont think its added yet.

There is a provison in MACH3 to use 1 button and run a macro from it. You only get 1 though.

I couldnt get it to work when I tried a long time ago but maybe that was just the version I had at the time. Personally wont bother trying it again myself as I will be requiring more than one button triggering a macro but it may be worth looking at.

Probably would not be hard to fix the mach3 ver to add a few more buttons to run macros. It is just a call to a function number (277) to allow it to run the called macro.
Just set it up to the same number of inputs in teh HOTKEY setup config window.
Just a thought,(;-) TP

I asked Brian for that quite a few years back and he said it wasnt an easy task to add it. Maybe he was just saying that as he couldnt be pi$$ed or maybe he was being honest, dont know
