hello everyone
I bought second hand mini PC
neoware CA19 or C50
it is a very small PC but it is complete with all needed, it is 400mhz processor but also 400 FSB which make it really fast when no calculations needed, because it is small I thought I can use it for driving one mini cnc machine, the chipset is CN700

upgraded with hard drive, windows XP sp2, installed chipset and video drivers
I tried both ways to install windows, standard way and pressing F5 and all other settings explained in "optimizing" windows
but mach cannot work properly, keep freezing and crashing
please advice what else I can try

hi
I run mach before on even slower PC this one is much faster, probably it is some kind of incompatibility
the driver test crash too
when started looks like is running but clicking any control on the window the application is freezing, some time restart, some time blue screen with message about video driver
when I run mach with slow motor settings it looks like working, but the frequency in diagnostics screen is not 25000 it is changing 195 - 65 - 129 - 25 ...
when I try to increase the motor settings, moving to motors cause every time freezing on whole PC and the motor continue moving with the maximum speed

Afraid I think you are farting against thunder with trying to use this board and the parallel port driver.
I successfully use the Via Pico motherboards on my lathe and one of the mills but I am using the SmoothStepper. I have just tried running the driver test on the wee Artigo (same mobo) I have hooked up to the TV and it too falls over after a short time in the driver test, so looks like the driver and the chipset dont work happily together. Its not the same chipset as yours but likely close.
