Could you give me an idea of the magnitude of the problem and some of the details? Maybe I could change a few things and get by. It sure would be nice to step up to the current level of the OS.

You may have to use 'Run as Administrator' to make it work.

I am trying to run it under Windows7 64 bit. Seems to work unless I click one of the dropdown menus (File, Edit, View, Default Help) at which point it locks up & stops responding.

I am trying to use an msi all-in-one (desktop) computer with touch screen & smartstepper.

Hi Don,

did you try setting the color setting to 16 bit in the controlpanel? If that doesn't help, you could try MachScreen.

Klaus

Could not find this setting in W7, but as all other onscreen buttons were working,so continued by just using these.

A day or two later the problem resolved itself without any input from me.

Thank you for Machprofile, it has proved most useful,   Don

Hi Don,

you can find that setting in Win7:
control panel -> Appearance and Personalisation -> Display -> Change display settings   Advanced settings
Monitor Dialog Colors
select High color (16 bit)

BTW MachScreen is running on Win XP, Vista and Win7 32 and 64 bit without any limitation.

It doesn't lock up.  It just takes forever to drop the menu down.  It did the same thing in Vista.  Other than that, it does work in Win7.
