I'm still trying to get past basics, but seems to run into a reoccuring problem
After stopping a program, Mach 3 seems to lock me out, but z axis starts to rise very slowly, and I cannot stop it, except by e stop.
I get error message  - Abnormal condition IJ mode is absolute.
The only way I can get it running again is to shut down mach3 and start again
This has also happened part way through a program, without me stopping the machine.
I am running the writing wizard.

Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you may have hardware issues, probably noise related but if  you attach your xml I will load it and test here to see if I can replicate or find config issues.
Other thing it could be is CPU being overloaded and possible causes of that could be some programmes you have loaded, QuickTime and Adobe Acrobat have been known to cause problems.

Thanks

I've removed quicktime and Itunes. I also changed round the computer and cnc setup, bigger gap between. and it seems to have resolved the problem.
I will run it some more before I close this post
