Right now I have two computers on my desk, one is on windows 7 64bit and I have been told that mach will not run on that. OK my question is can I just put windows 7 32 bit on it and use SmoothStepper.
Making it possible to remove the boat anchor from desk?

Thanks in advance, didn't want to buy windows 7 32bit if it won't work.

To put windows 7 32 bit on your machine, you will have to do a new install, there is no downgrade path. I recently had to do that very thing so I could install mach on a new computer, there are programs available on the web (open source) that will off load your installed applications and registry settings to enable you to replace them on the 32 bit version of windows.  I didn't have much loaded on my system so it was easier to just reinstall the programs after the fresh install. YMMV.

If you're going to use a Smoothstepper, you can use 64bit Windows 7. It just won't work with a parallel port.

Ok thanks, I was told it won't work with 64 bit, at least think I was (getting old) will try it. Have a smooth Stepper here.

Thanks again
