Hello to everyone
I have builted my first CNC router  and I tried to setup my Z axis with Mach3 motor tuning and I have only nose or vibration with the Z motor
The X - Y axis is running very well

    1 M254 NEMA23 Stepper Motors  Z axis
    2 M637 NEMA34 Stepper Motors  X - Y axis
    1 Micro Step Drivers D42 4.2 AMP, 50VDC  Z axis
    2 Micro Step Drivers D56 5.6 AMP, 50VDC  x - Y axis

I am connected directly to my ball screw 5 MM pitch

Hope somebody can help me

Hi Rene,

Welcome to the forum.

Thoroughly check the electrical connections for your Z Axis motor.
Check that you have the Step and Direction pins configured correctly in Config / Ports & Pins / Motor Outputs.

Under Config / Motor Tuning, select the Z Axis and set the Velocity to a low value. Using the up / down keyboard arrow keys you should be able to jog the Z Axis. Repeat this Increasing the Velocity bit at a time until the axis just stalls then reduce the Velocity figure by about 30% then save your settings.

I will check those setting. Could you tell me if 320 steps per units is ok with a 5 mm pitch ball screw

I have 5mm pitch ballscrews, 200 step motors @ 1/8 microstep and my steps per mm are set at 320.  Grin

I did the test that you told me to do and sometime Z Axis is moving but always in the same direction is moving down never up

Sounds like your Dir wire is not connected or possibly it is set to the wrong pin in Mach.

Steppers use a Step signal and a Direction signal. The Direction signal is either high (+5V) for one direction of rotation or low (0V) for the other direction. If the Direction signal is missing or shorted then the the motor will only run in one direction.
It is also possible to have a motor with one wire not connected behave in this manner. With everything switched off check all your electrical connections thoroughly.
