Can backlash comp be turned on/off with a g-code?
«

A little history first. I've been machining and programming for 28 years, with so many different softwares and operating systems it isn't even funny.
Currently I'm roughing out my parts with backlash comp off, which gives me the nice smooth machine motion. I then stop the program and go into "config" and turn backlash comp on. Then re-start the programed tool path. This gives me very true circles, but does look a little funky while running. But that's ok because I know what it is doing.
Is there a code I can use to turn this on and off?
Thanks

ps. My programs typically have several thousand lines, so leaving the option on can add a lot of time.

I don't think there is a Gcode but a Mcode could be created and used. you place the macro in the macro folder for the profile . then you call it like a Gcode.
If you need help with that let us know.

I think if you set your backlash settings correctly, you will just leave it on all the time.
Check out this video.

NOTE: I just checked AND I don't think it can be done. The backlash apparently needs a restart of MACH to be able to use AFTER it is turned off or on.
Also there is not a button to do so
SORRY
