Hello all.

I understand that the minimum system requirements for running Mach3 are
32-bit version of Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 Operating System (64-bit will not work)
1Ghz CPU
512MB RAM
Non-integrated Video Card with 32MB RAM

I have a very old Gateway with a Pentium III 550 MHz processor & 512MB RAM. It is currently running on Windows 98. I would upgrade the operating systom to Win XP Pro and strip all other applications off the machine so that Mach3 would be the only thing running other than the operating system.

Do you think Mach3 would run on 550MHz & 512MB RAM?

Thanks

I've heard of some people using PC's like that. But Mach3 performance can vary greatly from PC to PC, even those with similar specs. I use a 1Ghz PIII and wouldn't want to try anything slower.

Thanks ger21... I figured as much.  Was just trying to put the old girl back to work LOL.. Guess I'll pony up and find a machine that meets the spec requirements.

Thanks again

You may get away with it if you use W2K but really with the price of second hand computers I would say go and get a faster one.

You can get 1Ghz Dells like I use for $25-$50 on Ebay. WHile it does run my machine perfectly fine, I'll definitely use a t least a 2Ghz PC next time, as the interface is rather sluggish at 1 Ghz.

I have used a laptop (400mhz and 256 ram) which is less that what you asked about. The problem is,i t is very slow and actualy becomes annoying.....good grief don't update the screen display with it.
Ever hear of the expression "this old dog don't hunt no more"....i think it relates to old PC's. Grin
